About Us

I’m Sophie Ankrah, the founder of Strength in Mind.

 

With over a decade of experience in the fitness industry and more than four years running a successful personal training business under Body by Soph, I’ve seen first hand how movement can be transformative, not just physically but mentally too.


Now, as a qualified and HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist, I’m combining my passion for fitness with clinical expertise. My professional background includes working in forensic mental health, sensory integration, and community mental health – all of which shape my holistic approach to wellbeing.


Strength in Mind is more than a fitness brand – it's a fresh start, a space where mental health and physical health go hand in hand, and where women are empowered to build strength from the inside out.

I was never what I would call an ‘active’ person growing up but as I got older, I really wasn’t happy within myself and I knew it was due to my lifestyle.
So I started working out.  Slow at first, completing challenges I’d set myself would lift my mental state and the fact I was looking better and clothing fitted me better all contributed to improving my confidence.  
I prioritise working out now.  It’s part of my routine  as I know I depend on it to make my whole outlook and mental health so much better.  There is a significant difference in the days I work out compared to the days I don’t. I’m more ready for the day, more enthusiastic and with greater energy than when I don’t.  
It’s made me a much happier person.

Memberships

Online

Online coaching is a flexible online training offering to guide clients through personalised workout programs, coaching, and support without needing to meet in person. It blends the expertise of a personal trainer with the flexibility of online communication.

 

In Person

​

Personal training is guided exercise instruction tailored to a person’s goals, fitness level, and needs. It usually involves one-on-one in person coaching but we also offer small-group Pt sessions.
